Eliminate Faxing!

Today is Earth Day, April 22, 2010 and every little bit helps.

Going paperless is great if you can do it, but it isn’t always feasible. We understand that business cards, posters and brochures are needed in some situations and only paper will do. You can still help by eliminating the tired process of faxing. It’s just not needed any longer.

Most of us now-a-days create our documents electronically and we can “print” via PDF or even save it as an image file like JPG or PNG. Instead of printing them out on paper, simply attach the files to an email and send them along to the appropriate parties. This may seem like common sense to a lot of you, but trust me; there are so many out there still faxing. Why? Some just don’t think about the real cost of printing extra paper, some don’t care and some just don’t know how.

If you own a fax machine and you don’t own a scanner, think about switching equipment. Scanners today are very affordable and although they do include the use of paper, you only use half the amount as compared to a fax machine because you receive it electronically.

Selecting the Right Paper

When buying paper, look into using a recycled option and/or tree-free papers made from cottons and sugar canes. At the very least, look for papers that are certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, a non-profit organization devoted to encouraging the responsible management of the world’s forests.

Remember, every little bit helps and we can all do our part in maintaining this wonderful planet of ours!
